Cubs

Meetings:  Our Cub Scouts meet on Tuesday from 5.30pm to 6.45pm.

Age Range: 8 to 10½ years old.

Where: BP HQ, 69 Higher Drive, Purley, CR8 2HR.  We can be found in the grounds of St Barnabas Church.

Cubs take part in a wide range of activities designed to be interesting and challenging.  A Cub Scout meeting consists of games and activities with plenty of time spent outdoors.  Camps are some of the most memorable events of the year for Cubs.  Our Cubs hold their annual camp in May and there are opportunities to attend other camps and camping competitions.

Cubs learn by doing, and so will you. Some of the skills you develop will be practical, like knowing how to cook a delicious meal or give someone first aid.  Others will allow you to become a master at your chosen hobby.  But the most important skills you’ll learn at Cubs are the ones that will make you feel confident and happy in your own skin. We call these character skills.  Whatever skills you’d like to learn, it’s all about having the courage to try new things and learn from them.

We ensure a smooth transition to the Scouts section at around the age of 10½ and we guarantee our Cubs a place in our Scouts.

How to Join: Send us an enquiry, see the bottom of the Home Page and we can take it from there.  There is no cost and no uniform to try us out for a few weeks to see if Cubs is for you.
